Cleveland, OH (PRWeb) March 8, 2007 -- The new EchoPod (www.flowlineoptions.com/level/echopod-level-controller.html ) is the only non-contacting, ultrasonic device to monitor small tanks and sumps with a range of 49.2" (1.25 m) or less. This innovative level sensor is the first device to continuously monitor tank level via a 4-20 mA analog output plus four independently programmable alarm and control set points.
A steel tube manufacturer in northern Ohio uses EchoPod to measure and control cooling tower basins. This demanding and critical measurement was once made with resistive rods that would require daily maintenance.
According to the mills facility engineer, Gerry Bruno, "I'm glad this EchoPod works so well because once per shift my maintenance department would have to come out here and kick the old sensor to get it to work."
Daily maintenance has been typical for contacting type of level sensors. Since the EchoPod is completely non-contacting (does not come into contact with the liquid), it never fouls or corrodes. The Echopod gave the mill an added benefit of not only controlling the opening and closing of a valve for automatic tower basin control, but with an added digital display, the Echopod indicates the exact water level in inches. The display unit comes with a flashing strobe light for easy visual indication of a high or low-level alarm in case the pump or valve should fail.
The rugged PVDF enclosure is well suited for a wide range of corrosive, waste or slurry type media, and can be broadly selected for atmospheric day tank, process vessel or dispenser, pump lift station and waste sump applications.
Features of this new level instrument include:
* Only non-contacting, ultrasonic device to monitor small tanks and sumps with a 49.2" (1.25m) range.
* Provides switch, controller and transmitter capabilities in economical, compact unit
* Priced at the same or less than floats, capacitance and resistive rods
* Echopod includes an internal duplex pump controller
* WebCal® software allows for easy Windows based set-up (Flo-Corp will provide the unit programmed to our specs)
* Software includes wiring schematic/diagram of customized system wiring and connections; will print and save to file instrument tag and setup information programmable alarm and control set points
