Upper Marlboro (PRWEB) February 17, 2008 -- The Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation's Small Business Initiative will hold its Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, February 28, 2008, at the prestigious Camelot of Upper Marlboro. This year's theme, "Reflections: Moving Businesses From Success to Significance," encourages businesses to move from being successful companies to significant enterprises that generations to come will remember. The keynote message will be delivered by R. Donahue Peebles, CEO of his multi billion-dollar real estate development firm, and best selling author of The Peebles Principals.
The Small Business Initiative will honor outstanding Prince George's County firms during its third anniversary of providing service to the local, small and minority business community. The statistics regarding the program's accomplishments are impressive. The program has been able to help businesses build their capacity to be competitive in the Washington DC marketplace, and to gain access to more than $61 million in capital and contract opportunities. This event will celebrate major accomplishments, highlight new county initiatives, and introduce new public/private partnerships.
